"The Habit of Being"...pg 139

I once had the feeling I would dig my mother's grave with my writing too, but I later discovered this was vanity on my part. They are hardier than we think.

Yes Flannery had cottoned onto the fact that all us parents of grown up children know that our offspring are no longer under parental control. Still doesn't prevent us praying that they'll be neither a burden on us or an embarrassment. Of course Flannery afflicted by Lupus was a burden to her mother but a burden she obviously willingly accepted.

Thanks Tyler, I'll try to get some more up soon!

By the way, I've found bloglines.com helpful because it notifies you when a blog is updated, rather than having to check often...

I just found this, and I love the idea. I thought the Habit of Being was at least as good as most of her fiction and better than most other people's. I saw that you also liked Lost in the Cosmos, which is incredible. That's all, I just really like this idea.
